ABOUT ME
Today, photography has become a huge part of my life and a passion I will pursue until I'm old and broken. Photography keeps me connected to my dad's memory and has completely changed the way I see the world. I will shoot anywhere, at anytime. I have driven 15 hours to take a single photo, because I couldn't get a composition out of my head. I've slept in my car waiting for the Milky Way, more times than I care to count. I'm constantly exploring new places and revisiting old haunts. I love the mix of science, art, and individuality. Each image is a moment frozen in time, a moment that will never happen again, and a moment that I was lucky enough to capture. I hope you enjoy my work.
I started my journey into photography in 2015. After 15 years of tech sales and business development I made a huge career change and switched over to social media and content development for MGM Resorts. Not wanting to share an office camera with 10 other people, I purchased a Sony Alpha 5000. After 3 months of shooting, I bought a Sony Alpha 6300, and after another 6 months switched to a full frame Sony A7RII. The obsession was born.
My foray into photography also coincided with the passing of my father. In the wake of his death, I found that photography was a tool that helped me manage my grief. A year after his death, I was back in New Hampshire for Thanksgiving. As I was rummaging through the closet trying to find an old coat to face the November cold, I found a tripod and old Leica camera body, Surprised and delighted by my find, I asked my mom where they had come from. She said that after my dad retired, he had developed a real interest in photography and taken some courses at our local college. I had no idea. I hadn't gotten the bug until after my dad passed, so we never got to shoot together, but photography has helped me stay connected to my dad and honor his memory.
